NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The Thomson Reuters/Jefferies CRB Global Commodity Equity
Index Fund on Monday began trading on the New York Stock Exchange. The exchange-traded
fund, designed to replicate the half-century-old CRB commodity futures Index , consists
of 50 energy stocks, 35 agricultural stocks, 35 base metal stocks and 30 precious
metals stocks. The index is "an alternative for investors looking for exposure to
commodities without exposure to the commodities futures market," said Art Hogan,
chief market strategist, Jefferies & Co. Jefferies is expected to formally announce
the fund as soon as Tuesday.
Amaranth Sues Touradji For $350 Million

fund Touradji Capital Management, with the latter agreeing to buy the former’s base
metals portfolio. Three years later, Amaranth is suing Touradji and several of its
executives and employees, alleging its fellow hedge fund traded on confidential
information from Amaranth.
